Counseling sessions are generally 50 minutes in length. Applying insight oriented psychotherapy techniques, these sessions foster a context of self appreciation while promoting clarity in addressing current life challenges. Often this work helps clients to see old situations in new ways. And sometimes painful experiences from long ago - now seen in a new light - are found to lose their sting.
Initially, sessions tend to be issue oriented (addressing specific concerns) and solution focused (resolving concerns so life can move forward in a more satisfying way). Counseling sessions may end as initial challenges are successfully addressed. Or they may serve as an inviting bridge into wider horizons and the exploration of life's new possibilites. |
